The Thunderbird, a third-generation, family owned steak house opened in 1956 is one of Broomall’s best kept secrets. With the ambiance of a 1950’s steak house, round stools included, the locals gather to reconnect with friends, hear the latest news of the town or pick up their order for the big game. Known for having the best wings and cheesesteaks in town, the pizza will have your mouth watering as well.
This quaint steak house on West Chester Pike in Broomall connects the old with the new. On the wall you can take a trip through time looking at pictures of the area dating back to the 1950‘s when the trollies ran up West Chester Pike. They show you pictures of ‘the Pike’ before it became ‘the Pike’ we know today. After growing up ordering food from the Thunderbird, it is the one place I recommend to all my out-of- town friends and I urge you to try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
